Nicolas received a Kindle fire for Christmas and although he intercepted the delivery before he was supposed to open the box on Christmas morning, he's been very happy with it since the beginning. We've had plenty of time to familiarize ourselves with the gadget and I've downloaded plenty of applications and lots of free books for all of us already.
The Angry Birds has been a huge hit to the point I went ahead a paid for the RIO version. I must confess that I'm fond of the Hungry Spider game, what a mind challenge that little game is. I feel like I'm playing chess against a spider and that the bugs I'm supposed to free are my king and queen. I also downloaded the free version of the Fruit Ninja which Nicolas is very enthusiastic about. But since the Kindle acquisition is not all about the gaming possibilities but the ease of reading, I've gone all over the freebies to start our digital library. So far so great.
Check out the photos below, Nicolas reading his first kindle book, Middle School, The Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson. The story must be pretty good because he kept coming to me laughing to show me a funny part in a paragraph.
Kudos to Mr. Patterson then, my son has read half of the book in no time, now I have to buy the whole thing since I downloaded the free preview.
