A
Child's Angel
Once upon a time there was a
child ready to be born. So one day he asked God:
They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I
going to live there being so small and helpless?
Among the many angels, I
chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.
But tell
me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for
me to be happy.
Your angel will sing for
you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be
happy.
And how am I
going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that
men talk?
Your angel will tell you
the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care,
your angel will teach you how to speak.
And what am I going to do
when I want to talk to you?
Your angel will place your
hands together and will teach you how to pray.
I've heard that on earth
there are bad men. Who will protect me?
Your angel will defend you even
if it means risking its life.
But I will always be sad because
I will not see you anymore.
Your angel will always talk
to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I
will always be next to you.
At that moment there was
much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child in
a hurry asked softly:
Oh God, if I am about to
leave now, please tell me my angel's name.
Your angel's name is
of no importance, you will call your angel: Mommy

How
Much Longer?
I'm waiting so impatiently
To see your sweet face
It seems to be taking forever
Before my life, you Grace
My arms long to hold you
To touch your soft skin
How much longer now
Before I see your tiny chin
All my instincts tell me
It has to happen soon
But as the days and weeks go by
My life is filled with gloom
How much longer, Lord
Must my arms ache to hold
This precious life inside me
His birthdate yet untold

My Child
You are the poem I dreamed
of writing,
the masterpiece I longed to paint...
You are the shining star I reached for
in my ever-hopeful quest for life fullfilled.
You are MY CHILD...
Now with all things I am blessed.

Can You
Be A Mother When Your Baby Is Not With You
I thought of you and closed
my eyes
And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a Mother
And I know I heard him say...
A mother has a baby
This we know is true.
But, God, can you be a mother
when your baby is not with you?
Yes, you can He replied,
With confidence in His voice.
I give many women babies
When they leave is not their choice.
Some I send for a lifetime,
And others just for a day.
And some I send to feel your womb,
But there's no need to stay.
I just don't understand this
God,
I want my baby here.
He took a breath and cleared His throat
And then I saw a tear.
I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say:
"We go to earth to
learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My mommy loved Oh so much
I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a
mom
Who has so much love for me.
I learned my lessons very quickly,
My mommy set me free.
I miss my mommy Oh so much,
But I visit every day.
When she goes to sleep
On her pillow is where I lay.
I stroke her hair and kiss
her cheek
And I whisper in her ear.
Mommy don't be sad today,
I'm your baby and I'm here."
So, you see my dear sweet
one,
Your children are not blue.
Your babies are here in MY home,
They'll be at Heaven's gate waiting for you.
So now you see what makes a
mother,
It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of,
Right from the very start.
Though some on earth may not
realize you are a mother,
Until their time is done.
They'll be up here with Me one day,
And they'll know you were the best one!

Mother's Wages
If I would charge one cent
each time
I washed my children's clothes,
Or tied a shoe or gave a bath
Or wiped a runny nose,
Or made a bed or acted as
Their judge and referee,
It would be possible that I
Could live in luxury.
If I were paid a nickel for
Each diaper that I've pinned,
For every Band-Aid i've applied
When arms or legs were skinned,
For every toy that I've picked up
And put back in it's niche,
There wouldn't be a single doubt--
Why, I could be quite rich.
If just a dime would be my
fee
For giving them a pill'
For making meals and wiping up
The milk they always spill,
For darning scores of tiny socks,
For fixing things that break,
It wouldn't be too long before
A fortune I would make.
Although it's true I don't
receive
A solitary cent,
I'm repaid in many ways
For all the time I've spent,
Their smiles, their love is my reward
For this unending care,
And I am richer, yes by far
Than a millionaire!

Why
Mothers Cry
"Why are you
crying?" he asked his mom.
"Because I'm a mother," she told him.
"I don't understand," he said.
His mom just hugged him and said, "You never will!"
Later the little boy asked his father why Mother seemed to cry for no
reason.
"All mothers cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and
became a man, still wondering why
mothers cry.
So he finally put in a call to God, and when God got on the phone the
man said, "God, why do mothers cry so easily?"
God said, "You see son,
when I made mothers they had to be special.
I made their shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet
gently enough to give comfort.
I gave them an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection
that many times come from their children."
"I gave them a hardiness that allows them to keep going when
everyone else gives up, and to take care of their families through sickness
and fatigue without complaining."
"I gave them the sensitivity to love their children under all
circumstances, even when their child has hurt them very badly. This same
sensitivity helps them to make a child's boo-boo feel better and helps them share a
teenager's anxieties and fears."
"I gave them a tear to shed. It's theirs exclusively to use whenever
it's needed.
It's their only weakness.
It's a tear for mankind."

Hello God
Hello God, I called tonight
To talk a little while..
I need a friend who'll listen
To my anxiety and trial..
You see, I can't quite make it
Though a day just on my own...
I need your love to guide me,
So I'll never feel alone.
I want to ask you please to keep,
My family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence
For whatever fate they're bound.
Give me faith, dear God, to face
Each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things
I can't change in any way.
I thank you God, for being home
And listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice
When I stumble and fall.
Your number, God, is the only one
That answers every time.
I never get a busy signal,
Never had to pay a dime.
So thank you, God, for listening
To my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You, too,
And I'll call again tomorrow!

Reflections Of A Mother
author: unknown
I gave
you life, but cannot live it for you.
I can teach you things, but I cannot make you learn.
I can give you directions, but I cannot be there to lead you.
I can allow you freedom, but I cannot account for it.
I can take you to church, but I cannot make you believe.
I can teach you right from wrong, but I cannot always decide for
you.
I can buy you beautiful clothes, but I cannot make you beautiful
inside.
I can offer you advice, but I cannot accept it for you.
I can give you love, but I cannot force it upon you.
I can teach you to share, but I cannot make you unselfish.
I can teach you respect, but I cannot force you to show honor.
I can advise you about friends, but cannot choose them for you.
I can advise you about sex, but I cannot keep you pure.
I can tell you the facts of life, but I can't build your reputation.
I can tell you about drink, but I can't say "no" for you.
I can warn you about drugs, but I can't prevent you from using them.
I can tell you about lofty goals, but I can't achieve them for you.
I can teach you about kindness, but I can't force you to be
gracious.
I can warn you about sins, but I cannot make you moral.
I can love you as a child, but I cannot place you in God's family.
I can pray for you, but I cannot make you walk with God.
I can teach you about Jesus, but I cannot make Jesus your Lord.
I can tell you how to live, but I cannot give you eternal life |

Child Of My Heart
Author: Unknown
Not flesh of my flesh,
not bone of my bone,
yet still very much
my own.
Never forget
for one single minute
that you grew not under my heart,
but in it.
I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love
